Why a Computerized Baseline Assessment is NOT ENOUGH for Sports with a High Concussion Risk

Along with studies reporting high concussion rates, and increased concussion awareness among coaches, athletes, parents, and school/organizations, along has come the rapid growth in the use of computerized neuropsychological testing to evaluate and manage sports concussions, particularly at the high school and college levels.

BEWARE!!! YOUR ATHLETE MAY HAVE INVALAID BASELINE TEST RESULTS FROM THEIR SCHOOL!!!!

Many computerized baseline scores are invalid and therefore can't be used because they don't provide an accurate snapshot of a child or teen's pre-concussion or normal cognitive functioning. As a result, they can't be used to measure the degree of post-concussion cognitive impairment and recovery.
